Oxigen is also offering investors the chance to buy trees in the UK as part of our quest to fight global warming. Oxigen is buying existing forest and woodlands in Scotland, Yorkshire, Devon and Surrey enabling clients to own established trees as well as planting new seedlings. Trees in Britain of course make their contribution to combating CO2, but - even more important - profits derived by Oxigen in the UK will be re-invested in Visit Our Plantations overseas so helping slow the destruction of the rainforests and their precious eco-systems.
Returns from UK forestry may not match those from Tropical hardwoods, but Oxigen is offering clients the chance to seek security of Plantation close to home, as well of course as the capital gains and IHT tax benefits that apply to UK forestry. Many analysts believe UK forestry land is undervalued, and steady returns of three to five per cent per annum are historically attainable, though last year they hit a remarkable 27%!
Oxigen will be buying established woodlands and forests some close to harvest with tax free income streams, which will be offered to investors in to own which can then be independently managed for owners or even by owners themselves. Investors will have freehold or 99 year leasehold as security dependent on location all falling under Forestry Commision guidelines and controls.
