Why Malaysia? Why Malaysia?

Taman Negara Rainforest

Malaysia is an amazing country, with 4,675 kilometers of coastline, South East Asia's highest mountain, Mount Kinabalu sited in the Crocker Range in Sabah, and Taman Negara, one of the world's oldest rainforest.

Malaysia gained independence from Britain in 1963. The country is in two separate regions, Peninsular Malaysia is bordered by Thailand to the north and Singapore to the south. The second region, East Malaysia across the South China Sea is situated on the northern and northern west region of the island of Borneo. Malaysia comprises a variety of influences, including Malay, Chinese, Indian as well as British and more than 50 indigenous groups from Sabah and Sarawak like the Kadazan, Dusun, Murut, Bajau, Iban, Orang Ulu, Melanau, Bidayuh, Penan, just to name a few. Malaysia has inherited the British legal and estate leasing systems.

The country has a market economy, underpinned by the pro-business policy of the government's Malaysian Industrial Development Authority. The capital city of Kuala Lumpur, known throughout the world as KL, is famous for its iconic Petronas Twin Towers.

The Malaysian government believes more commercial forest Plantations are needed to reduce harvesting of the natural forests, and the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (KPPK) oversees this work. Oxigen's Plantations are in Sabah, East Malaysia, just a short distance from Brunei, one of the richest countries in the world.
